How can we say we've failed, when we use unrealistic, unhealthy fad diets? Its called changing your way of life, and loving it, along with who you ARE!

It's obvious, even today, that fads and trends when it comes to nutrition and health DON'T WORK! It's like getting pregnant( or not); the only gaurantees for these? ABSTINANCE!  BUT...the difference?  We can't do without food! So the solution? EAT RIGHT, EAT LESS,  and STICK WITH IT!

There are food maniacs, and sex maniacs(and NO, these addictions are not all they are cracked up to be)!  Like I said(in so many words), we need SOME food for survival, but not sex...all the latter does is mess with our bodies, and turns people stupid(just like to many of the wrong foods makes us fat...and sex, too, eventually)!

Sooo...where to start?  with whats called "old fashioned common sense;"  We are what we eat!  If we care about ourselves the way God does, we need to seek Him in everything we do, in order to
become intelligent again! So, you ask, what is the common sense way to be healthy and active? Here are the steps!

  • Talk to your Doctor, or a nutritionist about your weight, how much you need to lose, and what exercises and foods are best suited to your life(i.e. do you have heart problems? diabetes? etc)
  • Get information based on what you learned, so you can take it home, study it, and live by it!
  • Set up your exercise routine based on your interests(do you like to swim? walk? ride bike?); otherwise, it will be to boring and you will lose interest.
  • Get an enlarged copy of the most current food pyramid at myplate.gov or some other recommended site(can google terms like "food pyramid").  There is also one for exercise...some highly recommended sites to help with proper eating and exercise, along with some excellent moral support, are: myfitnesspal.com, and merckengage.com.
  • I have been the happiest and most successful with my weight loss efforts now that I have realized that keeping a food journal including what I eat, how much, and calories(most current calorie counter book, and excellent as well, is "The Calorie King-2012.  It also includes info on fat and carb intake and has other valuable info which includes many popular fast food chains and fancy restaurants).
  • REMEMBER: love YOU! God does, and He wants you to be healthy and happy...but do it right! Eat balanced, cut back on portions and limit junk food to just a little a couple days a week, or to a couple snacks a day with  100 calorie packs that u can get anywhere; or just one or two cookies instead of the whole box!  Keep track of the nutritional info on packages, so you know how many calories there are in a serving, etc.
  • KEEP THE CHIN UP! YOU ARE WORTH SAVING!  STICK WITH IT! IT WON'T HAPPEN OVERNIGHT!
